Selling Real Estate in the Philippines (The Reason I Haven't Been Blogging)

Wow, it has been a really long time since my last post.

Seeing that right now, I don't have any clients to call, I thought I would finally do something with this blog.

As the title clearly states, I'm selling real estate now and that is one of the main reasons why I haven't been blogging (aside from my long hiatus after Brazil).

The new job is a great experience. I'm working for a great company, Eton Properties Philippines, Inc. Some of our sister companies include Philippine Airlines, Air Philippines, Philippine National Bank and Allied Bank.

The pace has been steady. I made my first sale but of course I can't stop looking for clients.

Now it is time for some shameless plugging. I have a RUSH SALE. Local and foreign buyers are all welcome. It is located in Makati, Metro Manila.

It is a 2 bedroom penthouse loft (2 floors, high ceilings) located directly across the street from Greenbelt Mall. It has a view of the Makati Skyline.

It currently goes for 17.89 million pesos ($416,000) but the price will increase tomorrow.

For more info you can get in touch with me at these numbers 639173915972 / 639228822325 or e-mail me at dacalos87@yahoo.com.

The other projects I'm focusing on can be found at http://d-liberate.net.

I temporarily converted my writing site into my real estate site till I have the time to combine both efficiently.

That's it for now. Till the next big project. I'm off to make a sale!

Wow! It has been over a month since my last post.

For those of you who don't know, I've been on vacation. I visited some family back in New York and spent two weeks in Brasil for Carnival. So I've been a bit busy.

My buddy Maori sent an e-mail with a long list of Capoeira animations on YouTube.

Here are my favorites from the bunch.

Things that make you say "WTF?!" - Everyday Stuff

I little continuation of the series. The following pictures were taken using my cellphone (so excuse the blurriness of it all).

Just some stuff that made me go, "WTF?!"

"WATER FOUNTAIN?"

Nope. It's not a water fountain. This huge geyser-like figure is an open manhole. I saw it as I was going back home from Capoeira training.

"WHAT A SAD KNIGHT..."

I just found this really weird. The fake beard on the kid is just so ridiculous. That arrow going right at his ear is also an example of great layouting skills.

"HUH?!"

This is a bit more subtle. Look at the picture carefully.

"EN-SNOW"

Some Filipinos may be familiar with this sports drink. This is a picture of its earlier packaging. If you look closely at the slogan it says, "Cannot Seen But Can Eating". If the name "En-snow" didn't convince me to buy the product, their slogan sure would.

More to come!

Tony Jaa in the Protector - 4 minutes of unedited fighting

I was "stumbling" again and I found a cool video of Tony Jaa.

Tony Jaa was in films such as "Ong Bak" and the cleverly named sequel, "Ong Bak 2". Capoeiristas might remember him as the "hero" in the short fight sequence with Lateef Crowder entitled "Muay Thai vs. Capoeira" (a scene cut from the movie "Ong Bak 2").

The video I found was a 4 minute unedited fight sequence. When I say unedited, I mean UNEDITED. The scene is cut from the movie Tom Yum Goong or "The Protector" (presented by Quentin Tarantino).
The scene goes on uncut (broken props and all) for an entire 4 minutes.

Here's the link: http://omgvids.com/fightb.php

Enjoy!

On a side note:

I'm quite confused actually with the whole name thing. There is some confusion on if "Ong Bak 2" is the same as "The Protector". I guess that's the problem with international releases. From my own research on Amazon, the synopses seemed the same.

Here's what I deduced:

Tom Yum Goong is Ong Bak 2.
The Protector is Tom Yum Goong.
So logically, it would follow that The Protector is Ong Bak 2.

(I apologize if my inner philosophy major came out on that one)

D-liberate.net (my site) is now up!

After some difficulty with the server, I was finally able to upload my site.

Designed everything myself. I'll be using it for work and stuff.

Here's the entrance image:

I conceptualized the shot but my buddy Albert Labrador (Paparazzo) took the picture. If you think it's hard to do a handstand, imagine how hard it is to do it with a ballpen in your hand.

Visit the site and tell me what you think!

Doppelgangers...

You may be saying to yourself, "What the heck does this picture have anything to do with the title?"

The truth is, the picture isn't of me. It's of my doppelganger, Onemig Bondoc. For those of you who are a bit confused, a doppelganger is "an apparition or double of a living person" (according to my Mac's built-in dictionary).

I've been told that, since grade school, that I look like the dude. Up until now, I've just brushed it off. Thinking, "Well he kind of looks like me." But after seeing this picture, I have to admit that the resemblance is uncanny. It's ridiculous.

Just look at those eyebrows!

If I didn't know any better, I would think it was a picture of me. I felt like it's worth sharing.

Do you have a doppelganger? Show me a link of the pic!

Thanks to Tina for finding the picture!

Stewie Live! (Family Guy)

Man, I love Family Guy. Stewie's hilarious.

I recently used StumbleUpon and found this:

http://www.stewielive.com/

Pretty entertaining. If it doesn't understand your command, Stewie insults you in a his usual Stewie-style.

Try these commands:

rap
recite poetry

You might get a kick out of the results like I did.

EBC Philippines' Capoeira Training Resumes!

After a long long long long long break, Capoeira training finally resumes tonight at Manila Polo Club.

I've been wasting away here at the house. I feel the holiday flab mocking me as I type this blog post.

Aside from training there's a lot of new things to look forward to this year from EBC Philippines.

NEW TRAINING FORMAT

Professor Fantasma has decided to change the format and schedule of classes. Now a student has even more opportunities to learn the different aspects of Capoeira.

The schedule is as follows:

Manila Polo Club Dojo (located not in Manila but on McKinley Road, Makati at 800pm to 930pm)

Monday - All levels
Tuesday - Beginners
Wednesday - Angola
Thursday - Movements/Floreios

and a new class on Fridays (Maculele, Samba, Music/Instruments, Culture)

The Friday class is still tentative. It all depends on the availability of the venue.

Rodas are unscheduled and unannounced. Fantasma will hold rodas depending on attendance and axe.

The DLSU Capoeira Club will resume training after the first or second week of the term. This depends on Fantasma and if the club is having a recruitment week.

The other training venues are still the same. You can check www.ebcphilippines.com for more information.

We are also looking for a new venue in the North (San Juan/Quezon City). Contact me if you have info!

To a new year and a whole new set of possibilities! Axe!
